BEHIND THE WORK

This work is inspired by the sea.
The perfections and imperfections and unique nature of beautiful living things. Patterns of rhythm. Patterns of tides and sun and wind. Daylight and moonlight. Repetition.
This new collection of works uses lines and imagery in an abstract way to replicate the rhythms and patterns seen in nature, the sea, flowers, rocks, the oceans waves, sand and sky.
Abstract strokes, compulsive scraped, smeared and flooded pools of pigment enable the tension between perfect and imperfect, beauty and mystery, nature and humanity. Referencing our need for mother nature to refresh, energise, pause, reflect, inspire.
